Tampa Outdoor Activities

It was an absolutely amazing experience. Our tour guide Michele Frasure was awesome! Our expectations were low going in. I mean, Tampa is a large city. We expected to see the major attractions, but wow, we felt like we covered so much territory! She is so passionate and knowledgeable about Tampa. She knows the history, and also knows about all of the expansion going on. She took a multitude of pictures for us at the most beautiful sites. It was our 48th wedding anniversary, and boy, did she capture the memories for us. She is on Facebook by the name of Tampa Michele. The karaoke was one of the really fun parts of the tour as well. You can either choose to do it or not. It is your own private tour. She strives to personalize it to you! Take this tour! You will be so glad you did!

Great day at Adventure Island. we went on a weekday and mostly experienced no queue at the tubes and other rides. it was perfect, good sensations even with a 6Yo. some storm alerts due to thunder, park closed rides 3 times in the afternoon but quickly opened once the alert ended.

The aquarium was really nice and very clean. Really enjoyed it. We also did the Penquin Encounter that was Great! There were 8 of us in there with the penquins - we learned all about them and their habits and got to touch 2 of them with lots of pictures

We LOVED this water park. ALittle smaller than the one in Orlando. This place was clean and fun. The food was very good we rented a cabana by the bbq place. So worth it. We all liked the wave pool too where you can just sit in the beach. We would definitely go back there.

Completely delighted and surprised how much fun we had at Zoo Tampa!! It's been quite a bit since I have been to any zoo, but I wish I would gone sooner!! I went with my daughter and three grandchildren, 2, 4 and 6. Kids absolutely had a blast!! Zoo is clean, well maintained, most of the animals were out and about. The park was decorated for Halloween - great job!! The kids really loved touching the sting rays and feeding them, $6.00 for about 3-4 pieces of fish/shrimp for feed. There is a wind machine, $4.00 that all three little ones got into, were screaming and laughing, so much fun for 4 bucks! Trolls under the bridge were adorable, Wizard of Oz characters were engaging, all the characters were patient with the kids, very polite! I could go on and on... We ate at Macaw's Landing. We ordered the family meal for $38.00, got 4 cheeseburger sliders, 10 nuggets, large fry and large mac n cheese, it was all pretty good, more than enough for the five of us. We can't wait to go back at Christmas! PS... if you are older, rent the scooter for roughly $50 - game changer!! I was able to take it everywhere.I can't praise the staff at Zoo Tampa enough, and I mean everyone from ticket takers, restaurant workers, ride operators, characters, store workers.... they were all very friendly.

Captain Wes Wildman is very knowledgeable about the best fishing spots in the area. In one afternoon we were able to find and catch more snook, trout, redfish, salt catfish and Spanish Mackerel than we could count. We also saw manatees, tarpon and sharks. We had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend.

Really liked the automatic feature that gave information about featured points of interest as you came upon them. Very informative. Tutorial instructions helpful.

Outstanding Experience! As a future resident and brand new visitor to Tampa, Florida, it is essential that I learn about the culture, history, and infrastructure of the town. Mission accomplished!!!The Tampa Riverwalk Audio Walking Tour has guided me through so much history and culture, and I still have plenty to learn. Tampa zoo was great to visit. It's laid out well and easily to find your way around. The behind-the-scenes tram was fun too and they ensured that everyone wore their mask and that the dividers were up in between each seat for covid-19.Although they didn't require mask be worn in the outside areas in the park, they were required in indoor spaces. they offered free disposable mask at the front gate and you could always mask up if you felt like the crowd was a little too much for you.I am from Atlanta and I like our Zoo but I really enjoyed Zoo Tampa's aviary and behind-the-scenes tram. Some of the highlights were some birds the zoo Atlanta doesn't have, another type of tiger that Zoo Atlanta does have, wolves, painted dogs, and the fact that African elephants were actually black instead of a hint of red from our Georgia red clay!!

We as a family of seniors and family rented a cabana and bought all day dining package. We loved the place stayed from 10-5

We had a great time at Adventure Island! Don’t listen to the negative reviews—we went on a Saturday and had an absolute blast. The lines were very manageable, which made it easy to enjoy a lot of rides without feeling rushed. We did splurge on a cabana, which was nice, but honestly not necessary if you’re trying to save a little money. The food and drinks were solid and hit the spot for a day in the sun. One tip: skip the preferred or VIP parking if you plan to arrive when the park opens—regular parking worked out just fine for us. Overall, a really fun day and definitely worth the visit!

Loved it. Not a lot of one type of animals but the enclosures were clean, the viewing area well marked and plentiful. It was busy but not to the point of being crowded. A little expensive to get into the park, but worth it. The kids seemed to be enjoying it immensely and the exhibits far enough apart as to not be bothered. If you are in the area...GO.

It was an amazing experience and a wonderful idea to do for our Sunday Funday right before heading back home after the holiday break! We were able to get through the park and also enjoy the rides and some attractions in 3hours. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable throughout the park! The kids want to come back !

We came for a school trip. The experience overall was phenomenal. The rides were a hit and the was on point. I have 2 complaints: the first was that the drink machines seem to have been down around the whole park. We purchased the refillable cup and all the sodas seemed to be out except at Mango Joe's. The second is the bathrooms near the entrance with the showers and the one off the lazy river were so hot I was sweating more in there than out in the sun. Other than that we had a great time.

This waterpark was so fun. They have something for everyone. It was so fun for my teenagers and younger kids. Parking was great and easy. We loved it all. Left before the rain.
